Healthcare IT Innovation Asia Summit, March 14-15, 2012 Singapore
The ageing population, chronic disease care and increased patient awareness call for the creation of a pervasive healthcare environment, placing more demand on resources to provide quality care for greater populations. Asian governments and hospitals are turning to technology as the key enabler to ensure patient safety and quality of care, and to yield better healthcare outcomes within the resource constrain.
The Singapore government, among a number of Asian governments, has implemented a nation-wide EHR connecting primary, secondary, tertiary and community care for enhanced patient experience and safety. In this process, major challenges identified include:
